What is substance abuse? 

Substance abuse is the use of illegal or over-the-counter drugs for purposes other than it's initial use in which they are taken in excessive amounts. Substance abuse leads to physical, mental, and emotional harm. Many substances fall under the category of misused drugs, but xylazine and fentanyl are extremely common to be abused.
